MeaZea pulls a face. “How we can dream?”

Thanatas says, “you’ll see.”

The two can’t get anything else from the snake, no matter how much they aask. They are just left to follow her through the crop circle maze. Eventually, they reach the very center of the field. There’s a gaping hole. Stairs crafted from pure moon light lead down into it.

“You dream quickly,” says Thanatas, in that serpentine drawl of hers. “I cannot follow you down into the Moon Cave. I’m not allowed. I have a friend, though. She lives in the second cavern that you pass through. Tell her that Thanatas sent you, and she will make sure that you get to the mirror entrance with little problems.”

WooFZee nods. “What does your friend look like?”

“You’ll know her when you see her,” insists Thanatas. A great roar fills the air. Lightning flashes through the sky, these great streaks of red energy.

MeaZea shudders. She tightens her grip on WooFZee’s fur. “Let’s go, WooFZee. I don’t think it’s a good idea for us to stay here for very long.”

“Alright,” says WooFZee, but he takes another moment to look over the massive snake before starting down the stairs. They’re cold under his paws. The shimmering light supports him, but vanishes as soon as he’s passed it by.

The stairs both stretch on for eternity and only seem to take a few steps to get down. They let out into a massive cavern, with bright pink and red crystals pressed into the walls. The stalagmites are gray and the stalactites are white, and the rest of the stone is black as night.

Slowly, the duo make their way into the only passage. It’s thin and narrow. WooFZee’s sides scrape over the stone. He asks, “are you okay? You were down in that water for a long time.”

“I’m fine,” insists MeaZea. “I just – I’m confused, WooFZee. What happened to Pao?”

A voice that doesn’t belong to her canine companion answers her. “He broke the rules, just like you have. You do know that there are rules here, right? You should have been doing a better job at following them, girly goo.”

WooFZee’s ears flick back. “That must be Thanata’s friend.”

“I guess,” says MeaZea, suddenly feeling uneasy. When they step into the next cavern, the light is so bright it’s blinding. They can’t see anything!
