A whole pack of Baltimore Orioles got our tails breaking the wag-o-meter in response to their support for stray pets.

According to the Major League Baseball organization, the Orioles recently signed autographs and participated in a calendar sale which not only benefited the team’s own charitable giving foundation, OriolesREACH, but also Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS).

BARCS is a non-profit shelter with a mission to accept and care for all animals in need. The organization also promotes responsible pet ownership and strives to make Baltimore City a more safe and humane community for dogs (and their owners) to run, roam and play in.

The MLB says related player appearances have helped raise close to $100K for BARCS in recent years. One way team members have achieved that is by appearing in 15-month calendars along with their very own pets. The professional pics are often taken inside or around Orioles stadium.

As the BARCS organization encourages: “These pawsome calendars always sell out fast. Do your holiday shopping now since they make wonderful gifts. If you wait too long, they’ll be all gone…. (We thank) the O’s for always going to bat for BARCS!”

The Orioles’ 2014 Pet Calendar ($15) is now available for purchase and includes pages for October 2013 thru December 2014. In Maryland and Delaware, visit High’s Dairy Stores to purchase yours. Or, to place an order at Orioles.com, click on the “Community” tab.
