“Mariah wants the world to know that dogs are special animals and she loves all dogs very much. Do you want to know how much?”

Who is Mariah Carey?  Mariah Carey was born in Long Island, New York. She is the daughter of Patricia (Hickey), who is of Irish descent, and Alfred Roy Carey, who was of Afro-Cuban and African-American ancestry. Mariah attended Greenlawn’s Harborfields High School. In June of 1990, Mariah made her debut with “Mariah Carey” which entered at #73, but on August 4, 1990, it reached #1. Her 1990 self-titled debut album went multi-platinum and spawned an extraordinary four consecutive #1 singles: “Vision of Love,” “Love Takes Time,” “Someday” and “I Don’t Wanna Cry,” and led to Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Vocalist. Her 1993 album titled Music Box went ten-times platinum. On September 30, 1995, she made music history. Her single “Fantasy” from her 1995 Daydream album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first female artist to accomplish a number one debut in the U.S. Her other Daydream’s single “One Sweet Day” remained for 16 weeks at the top of the charts. She is the only artist since the “Beatles” to have so many #1 singles and albums. She is the most successful selling female artist in music history.  She also is the only female artist to have the most #1 singles and albums and holds the record for straight #1 singles and albums each year. Along with numerous awards and incredible vocal range, she also composes all of her own material, with the exception of song covers.

Did you know…?

Mariah tweets constantly about their dogs, brings them into the music studio with her and had them attended her hospital birth!

What kind of dogs does Mariah own?

Mariah Carey owns five dogs.  They are small enough to carry in a purse.  All five of dogs are Jack Russell terriers.

What are her dog’s names?

Their names are Cha Cha, Jackie Lambchops, Squeak E. Beans, JJ and Jill E. Beans.  Talk about original!

Mariah dogs are in the music business too

Not only are her dogs a part of her life, but they help out with her music career too.  In 2011, her dog Jill E. appeared in the music video with Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber called “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Jill E. has also appeared in assorted other tweets, including one in which she jumps for a strawberry in an elegant hotel room and one where Carey jogs with what she calls “dem pups.”  Mariah Carey also brought Jill E. Beans onstage with her during the September 2012 NFL Kickoff concert at NYC’s Rockefeller Plaza!

Mariah’s dogs play a special role in her pregnancy

Mariah even brought all five dogs to the hospital when she gave birth to Roc and Roe and get this the dogs even had their own room. Yes, you heard me right!  Mariah’s five dogs had a room specifically for them to stay in, sleep and rest in while Mariah recuperated from her childbirth to Roc and Roe.

WooFStoria Tip for Day

There are many ways to show your dog that you care.  One way is by giving your dog a little extra attention.  Believe it or not, dogs crave for your attention and when you focus on other things, they become jealous or sad, sometimes both.

In this busy day-in-age, it is hard to give all your free time to your dog.  Do they notice when you do not pay attention to them?  Sure they do.  You don’t want them to feel sad or lonely, so what can you do about it?

One option is to relax them and occupy them with things that are going to keep them busy and make them happy without having you in the room or backyard with them having to entertain them all the time.

How do you relax and occupy them with other things?

Consider downloading some of our music and music videos located at www.WooFTunes.com.  Our music and music videos were designed and produced specifically for dogs with one sole purpose in mind – to make them feel happy and relaxed.

Just recently a study that was done found, when music was played for shelter dogs, more than 70 percent became calmer.   The more music that they played, the more relaxed the dogs became.
